Dereck and I headed over to the funeral home today so we could start getting some ideas together as to what we want to do for Liam's gravestone. We looked at different types of granite, font styles and sizes, shared some ideas of what we would like to see engraved on it- pictures, dates, a nice quote maybe, and looked at prices; but didn't make any decisions today.
After we left the funeral home we headed back to the cemetery and walked through babyland to see what other families have put on their child's gravestone. We want to do something special and unique for Liam's. We're not sure how long it will take till we get something put together, but we do want it done and in place by fall so we can hopefully see it before winter.
All I could think about while walking through babyland was just how unfair this is. So many of my friends and family right now get to go shopping for baby food, baby clothes, baby toys, baby books, etc. Of all the things I wish I could be buying for my little boy right now, shopping for gravestones is not one of them.
